B- Balance In Life

Balance, peace, and joy are the fruit of a successful life. It starts with recognizing your talents and finding ways to serve others by using them.
Thomas Kinkade

I imagine myself as the perfect example of having a balanced life. I wake up at 5:30 in the morning, drink 3 glasses of water. I then pray namaz, and then just close my eyes and sit on my prayer mat and have a talk with my Creator. It feels amazing. I then write my thoughts, in my diary, and then have a look at my planner where I have noted down my plans for the day.

Then I go for a morning walk as soon as the sun comes out. I come back to have a nice shower, have a healthy and filling breakfast. Then being a freelance writer I work, I write, I reply emails, I read other blogs. I cook. Then after lunch, I get lazy on my couch and read a book. I then get back to my work in the evening with my hot mug of coffee and wrap up my work by 7. It’s time to spend time with family. I have dinner with my family and that’s how my day ends by sleeping by 9:30 in the night.

You really think this is my schedule? Then you have highly mistaken. I am a full-time student studying masters. I cannot call myself a freelance writer because it’s a long way to go (and I am not even close to it) . I sleep mostly between 2 to 3 at night( either watching movies, FRIENDS series for a zillionth time or just listening to music) and when I don’t have lectures in college I wake up at 10:30 and when there are lectures in college I struggle to sleep by 12 to 1 and then wake up by 6:30 and drag myself to college (very unhealthy lifestyle! it’s high time I need to change it). I have all my assignments piled on, my research work piled on, plus everyday blogging challenge and I am a complete mess at the moment, have not read a word from the current book I picked up to read. (not at all proud of it, the feeling sucks, I feel empty… and have not noted down anything in my diary as well. Not a good thing at all, much out of focus, feeling guilty while typing this…)

Why? Because I lack balance in life. Balance are of two kinds, personal balance i.e your emotions, your thoughts, your inner self balance, your relationships and professional balance i.e your studies, career, job, work. Life can never always be balanced, there will always be some good times and some bad times. But there are a lot of ways that we can actually balance our other factors of life.

“Life is not about how fast you run or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.” – Vivian Komori

All that I need to do to balance my life is, to plan out. I need to prioritize everything and make sure to make time for all my work. I need to complete my work in that assigned time. Also, while taking care to complete the work and planning out one major thing is to keep away distractions.

Social media is a monster which is kind of addictive. I have found it very irritating. Because I have realized that social media kinds of builds more laziness in us than anything else can do. It has made man rely on machine so much so that we all have become slaves of social media and internet. Sadly, today everything relies on social media, this blog itself is relying on how much do I market my blog on social media. Every business out there is depending on social media today.

But does that mean that we have to spend all our day on social media? For this very reason I have started to log off from Instagram which is the mother of all social media platforms today. It’s more addictive than any other social media platform. The time we spend on social media, could be used for a lot more reasons. And so slowly I am trying to de-attach myself from social media.

I need to be organized, I need to not only plan my day but also week and month ahead of time. I am very much intimidated by people who are so organized and make time for everything and handle all the responsibilities so well. It is because they are well organized and focused. It is because they dare to challenge themselves, go out of their comfort zones and make sure to do what needs to be done to achieve their goals.

You will never find time for anything. If you want time you must make it.

Which brings me to being focused. I have never been focused in life. I have been the laziest writer ever. I have always tried to find reasons like college, studies, to not to write the book I dream of (which I still have not figured out) and to get back to blogging (which finally I am doing). But lately, I am proud of the fact that even though after having so many things to do and already been piled on with studies and research work I still have managed to take part in this AtoZ blogging challenge because if not now then when?

Balancing life is all about planning and being organized and get out of the comfort zone. We always have complains about not making time for self-care or things that should be done which makes us happy. To be honest, if you really wish to do something you will eventually do; no matter how busy you are. Finding balance in life and putting it into action is not easy. I am too finding it hard but it is not impossible.

Make a list of the most important things you need to do first, set deadlines, give each thing a proper amount of time. Don’t overload yourself and don’t stress. At first, it is possible that you will have to sit late till night to figure out what to do, how to do, and how to go about it. But slowly and eventually when one gets into the habit of planning things out and sticking to the plan strictly one will notice how easy life goes. It’s like a joke I am writing this blog post when I myself lack balance in life. But trust me I am trying, I am trying my level best and also, I know and I am 100% sure that once I actually get into the habit of planning and being organized and get into a healthy lifestyle my life will be far much better, I will be a happy person and I know I will achieve this before 2019 ends! (It’s a goal I wish to achieve this year.)

This will also help in mental health as much of the stress will be killed by actually finishing up the work and having time to do things that you actually wish to do, maybe going to a zumba class, or for swimming, or meeting friends, spending time with family or friends, or maybe learning the guitar which is catching dust and in my case, reading more books and writing more stories. Having a balanced life is the most important thing.

Do you wish to have a balanced life? Do you imagine it? Care to share how does it seems/feel like when you imagine? Any tips for me, as to how can I find balance in life? anything?

Quite a balanced and interesting post. Loved the twists in between and how you struck a balance between what being perfect and chaotic is, still keeping the essence intact.
