Escape

Life keeps testing us, it keeps testing our patience. There are so many times we feel we just wish to run away from the situation, run away from everything and everyone and there are even times we realize we want to run away from our own selves as well. But we can’t do that right?

We can at times find a way to run away from people and even situations but we cannot run away from our own self. But mostly, even when we run away from people or situations there still comes a time when we have to any which way face the situation or people in our life. Some day or the other we have to face it…

We spend more time developing means of escaping our troubles than we do solving the troubles we’re trying to escape from.
David Lloyd

To be honest, the fact is we can never escape from anything that is meant to happen, that is destined to happen will eventually happen. But we can for sometime always try to trick life and escape just for a while, to re-fresh our mind, to fuel in our soul to let it rest for sometime so that when we come back to life and face it, we can do it bravely and strongly. When there is something we need to clear out, some misunderstandings, some issues that we wish we had time to at least get time to analyze and understand it, we need an escape.

For me escape is in reading books. To be honest, in times of need, I have always found books most comforting, most reliable and most helpful. I find books sometimes talking to me, giving me advices, not just books sometimes I read a quote, a blog, a poem which helps me understand things, helps me to know that even if there is no one to talk to, to vent my feeling out, words come to my rescue in every form. Be it books, be it poems, be it small write-ups posted in social media, be it stories, it blogs. Books have always been by my side and so I am a person of books and not a people’s person. You can leave me alone with books and coffee, or hot chocolate drink and that makes my day.

You can escape into a character.

Even though these days I am in grave need of escape I am finding it difficult to read books I wish to read, I am craving to visit a book store or a coffee store with my friend (book) and left alone. That’s my kind of escape. What is yours? Care to share?
