Blogging and Writing Tips

W- Watching a Play Live. (A to Z Blogging Challenge.)

Since I have been a literature student for my post graduation course we had to study plays as well and I loved them. I still remember the very first play I had read and the lectures are still fresh in my head.

I don’t quite remember other plays as much as I remember the very first play that I read and I am planning to read it again. ‘A Doll’s House, Henrik Ibsen.’ is one I am talking about and it’s my favorite one.

It was first performed in 1879, and I still find it relevant to this age and generation. It is about how a woman is first the doll of her father and then becomes the doll of her husband. The doll here more or less symbolizes ‘a puppet’. I won’t go in deep in this blog but will surely do a review/ analyses blog post some day.

I have visited Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai but not to watch a play but just to hang around and have food of the prithvi cafe. But I always have this wish lingering within me to watch a play live someday.

The issue is all play shows happen in the late evening and secondly as I said I have close to none interested in the same things I am interested to do.

Sometimes I really wish I had someone who is just like me and share the same interests so I can talk and share my views too. But sadly, I am like choking up these days with so many thoughts and ideas that I don’t know how to put them down even while blogging or even writing in a diary. I have not touched my diary for so long because there is this fog in my head which had just made it difficult to out my words down.

Anyway, this blog posts can’t be long all I can say is, I wish to watch some plays live and not just read them because the essence of plays are to watch them being enacted rather then just be read. Of’course reading a play can also be fun but watching it live seeing the actors enacting is the real essence of the play.

Have you ever watched a play or do you have any special play that you like the most? Any recommendations on plays too will be welcomed.

Being an English literature student I have had my share of plays.
I acted in a Shakespearean drama during school and I watched few while at college. Live theatre improves learning and tolerance students. To fully appreciate Shakespeare, it’s best to see his plays live on stage, which is must in a life time what I would say out of my personal experience.
