W- Water Color Painting.
Although I started my art journey with acrylics, I love watercolors too.
Watercolors are the best to start as a beginner and the best if you wish to experiment and explore the medium. You can practically create and use so many textures in so many forms.
It’s also best to use if you often travel and like to paint or do art along with your travel journeys.
I personally would choose to carry watercolors than carrying acrylics along with me, if I ever become a traveler which I hope so I do.
Watercolors are beginner friendly, very affordable, and can be used to create a lot of art. It dries out quickly and is also very forgiving, meaning you can rectify your faults immediately by just activating the paint with water.
My journey with watercolors has been really amazing and I have loved every bit of how much I have learned and still would love to explore a bit more.
Let me show you some of my watercolor art and the materials I use.
Materials:

Starting with watercolor paints. I use Camlin’s artist version and they work great for me. However, I am looking forward to try some more brands. Hopefully, by the end of this year, I will try to get my hands on some other brands of watercolor.

For brushes, I have a huge collection of brushes. Perhaps, I use very limited watercolors, and mostly I use all round brushes and very rare flat ones.
For papers, I use these scholars’ hot and cold press watercolors loose sheets. And I also have these Sitaram watercolor pads and Chitrapat’s watercolor sheets which are best for watercolor artwork.

First Custom Commissioned work:

My very first custom-commissioned work was for mini watercolor handmade cards which I remember came to me when I had just started out with watercolors. I was on cloud 9 when this lovely client approached me and I loved how all the mini-cards came out.
I still have to learn a lot about watercolors and I am loving to explore them more. I hope I master this medium soon.
That’s it for today.

Something about watercolor hues makes me nostalgic about whatever is painted. They always come out so beautiful and soulful 🙂 Also, your paintings are super pretty, my favorite being the ship on the seas with sunlight streaming through~
